Solidarity with Israel – University of Bremen Supports DAAD Statement

Together with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University of Bremen stands in solidarity with its Israeli friends and university partners. It is shocked by the recent attacks on Israel by Hamas and Hezbollah.

"We are deeply shocked by the brutal attacks by Hamas on Israel this past weekend. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and our sympathy and condolences go out to them," says Dr Mandy Boehnke, Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity.

"Our deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families, and we offer our sincere condolences to all those who have lost loved ones or fear for their lives. We stand firmly in solidarity with all Israelis, in particular our many friends and partners at Israeli universities," said DAAD President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee in a DAAD statement.

The university cooperates with various research institutes in Israel, including the University of Haifa and Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
