Re-Registration and Semester Fee

Re-Registration

You are responsible for re-registration yourself – you will not receive a separate request to do so.

Students intending to continue their studies in the coming semester renew their enrollment by transferring the semester fee before the deadline (by February 15th or August 15th).

Please note that we must have your current address and any changes in health insurance must be transmitted digitally by the health insurance company to the University of Bremen. Students who do not properly re-register by paying the semester fee or do not maintain proof of health insurance will be withdrawn from studies.

For a leave-of-absence semester with / without a Deutschlandsemesterticket, an application must be submitted to the Student Office by the end of the re-registration deadline (February 15th / August 15th of each year).
Applications for Deutschlandsemesterticket exemptions must be submitted by two weeks after the start of lectures.

If there are no objections, the registration or enrollment will be carried out by the Student Office upon receipt of the full semester fee. You will then receive your study documents by mail. The Deutschlandsemesterticket will be made available to you electronically.

The semester documents include:

  • Your master data sheet ("Stammdatenblatt") for safekeeping and to register for exams
  • Your student ID
  • University enrollment certificate
  • Your Bafög certificate

Deutschlandsemesterticket

Students at the University of Bremen receive the digital "Deutschlandsemesterticket" (D-Seti for short). The retrieval link for the D-Seti will be made available to students by e-mail from the Student Office after re-registration/matriculation in good time before the start of the semester (01.10./01.04.).

Information on the D-Seti can be found on the website of the General Students' Committee (ASTA) https://www.asta.uni-bremen.de/service/semesterticket/ in the section "Introduction of the Deutschlandsemesterticket for the winter semester 2024/2025" and at https://www.dein-semesterticket.de/.

As part of the provision of the D-Seti, the bodies responsible for providing the D-Seti receive data from the University of Bremen and the AStA of the University of Bremen. You can find more information on this in the data protection information.
