Living in Bremen

Bremen has about 550,000 inhabitants – a medium-sized city in which you can quickly feel at home. The green park Bürgerpark, the River Weser, the extensive cultural opportunities all over the city, and a vibrant nightlife scene are just a few of the reasons.

As a student, you can go everywhere by bus and train using the Semesterticket; but (almost) everything in Bremen is easily reachable by bike.

Bremen's districts are colorful and diverse, Ostertor is the urban and bustling part of the city, along the Weser for a maritime feel, the iconic Neustadt district or close to the University in Horn-Lehe; there is a place for everyone.

The Studentenwerk Bremen offers affordable housing for students. In Bremen there are also private residential accommodation, various housing associations, and of course there is always the private housing market.
