Individual Teaching Coaching for New Faculty
Teaching staff at the University of Bremen can take advantage of individual teaching coaching provided by an experienced external trainer with expertise in university teaching and academic presentation.
Objective
The coaching helps instructors develop their individual teaching and presentation style, strengthen their presence and communication skills — including in online teaching — and present content in a clear, engaging, and accessible way. It also aims to foster teaching approaches that encourage students to think and learn independently.
Approach
The coaching is based on the observation of a specific teaching session. An external trainer attends one of your classes, either in person or, in the case of online teaching, remotely. The session is then reflected on and discussed together. Building on this concrete teaching situation, the coaching can also address broader aspects of your teaching approach, with individual teaching sequences explored, refined, and practiced.
