15th Early Career Researcher Workshop

Scientific workshop with poster presentations and talks.

Get to know the scientists next door – live and in person on the campus of the University of Bremen

Register Here

With the aim of “building bridges” across faculties and institutes we encourage early-career researchers to boost their careers through interdisciplinary exchange.

In the forthcoming workshop, scientific keynote presentations by invited MAPEX ECIs will pave the way for short lightning talks (approx. 4 min) and extended poster-sessions to allow open discussions and interdisciplinary networking. An additional highlight will be talks by two MAPEX PIs, giving insights to their scientific research as well as to their academic career paths.

Furthermore, we will have informative contributions from

  • The Data Science Center and its provided services to ECRs

  • The Bremen State and University Library about possiblities and topics of Open Access Publishing

After a day full of science and networking, the day will close with a social activity at the restaurantzum Platzhirsch”, playing minigolf and having dinner.

The workshop is a perfect platform for you if you would like to …

  • get in touch with ECR peers, build up your own network of experts,
  • learn from others from different disciplines and think outside the box,
  • open doors to other experts – become aware of the huge potential for mutual support that you can access on the short way,
  • develop ideas for cooperative and interdisciplinary research projects,
  • get to know how MAPEX can support your research and your scientific career path
  • learn more about the Data Science Center and its support and services
  • find out about the open access publishing opportunities at the SuUB (Bremen State and University Library).

Call for contributions: Poster and flashlight presentations
Contributions from all parts of materials science-related topics are welcome. We explicitly encourage ECRs as well as master students to present the results of their projects or thesis.
Please hand in a short abstract for your poster and flashlight (3-5 minutes) presentation no later than the 1st of June via our online registration form

Please realise your registration online (no registration fee).
The registration (without active contribution) will close the very latest on 05 June 2023 (Conditional on remaining free places).
