CV Jonas Hornung
Born in 1989 in Fulda.
From 2009-2012 I studied philosophy, psychology and neuroscience in a bachelor program in Magdeburg.
Bachelor thesis: Ein multidisziplinärer Blick auf die Spiegelneurone bei Affe und Mensch. Welche Funktion haben Spiegelneurone und welche Konsequenzen ergeben sich daraus?
In this thesis I started with a philosophical model and afterwards collected empirical evidence to show whether it was valid or not.
From 2012-2014 I studied neuroscience in a master program in Magdeburg.
Master thesis: The effects of brief mindfulness meditation on solving insight problems.
In this thesis I mainly investigated whether a short guided meditation practice did improve performance in so-called insight problems which require a creative step to solve them.
In July 2015 I joined the Department of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurobiology to start a PhD project which will deal with decision making in everyday situations.
Additional research interests:
- interplay of emotion and cognition
- clinical (psychiatric, neurological) questions
- plasticity due to behavioral interventions (physical exercise, nutrition, meditation, music)
