Personal details

Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Dietrich Haasis is Full Professor in Maritime Business and Logistics since 2015. Before he was Full Professor in Industrial Economics and Production Management since 1994 at the University of Bremen, Germany. In line with this, he is Chairman of the International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics, as well as member of the Governing Board of the Bremen Research Cluster in Logistics since several years. From 2001 to 2014 he was Managing Director of the ISL – Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics in Bremen. Moreover since 2014 he is official member of the Board of Academic Advisers to the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. He also is chairman of the Asian-German Knowledge Network of Transport and Logistics. Since March 2018 he is Distinguished Professor and Foreign Director of the International Joint Research Center for Logistics Management and Engineering at the Zhongyuan University of Technology in Zhengzhou, China. He received his Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Karlsruhe in 1983 and he completed his Doctoral Thesis in Karlsruhe in 1987 as well as his Habilitation in 1993. Within the last 30 years he was senior consultant and project manager for numerous national and international research and training projects related to the configuration and coordination of sustainable logistics systems, maritime business and transportation systems, value added services as well as production management and international distributed production networks.

He is Honorary Doctor of the Kiev National Economic University as well as the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University. Moreover he is member of several editorial and scientific advisory boards. Through out his professional career, up to now he published more than 100 books and papers, and graduated 45 Doctorate students.
