I am a petrologist interested in fluid–seafloor interactions and their chemical, physical, and biological consequences. My research investigates element fluxes and redox changes associated with the hydrothermal alteration of mafic and ultramafic rocks, tracing their evolution from mid-ocean ridges to shallow subduction settings. I am currently leading a DFG-funded project examining the low-temperature alteration of abyssal peridotite.
