Together with the Institut für musikpädagogische Forschung of the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover (hmtmh) we were dealing with the potentials of feedback systems in music teaching in the project "PosyMus".
Here validated tasks for measuring music competence from previous research projects are processed and adapted in such a way that they can be used in computer-based tests at schools of general education, also with regard to accessibility and usability. The tests will be carried out on mobile devices in already established "tablet classes" in northern Germany.
In order to provide and communicate the results of these tests, an electronic feedback system (eRMS) was developed in cooperation with the teachers, which meets the multimedia requirements of music. In a mixed methods approach, the technical and personal conditions are to be described, focusing in particular on the use of the eRMS to support the individual development of pupils. At the same time, the possibilities of teaching development in the subject of music through the use of digital media and integrated learning status surveys are to be explored. The aim was also to further develop forms of multimedia testing of music skills that are suitable for large-scale assessments and can be transferred to other subjects if necessary.
The project was funded from the programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (bmbf) for the promotion of research projects linked to Large-Scale-Assessments.
