Dr. Clement Appiah

Postdoc

Clement Appiah was born in Berekum, Ghana. He obtained his BSc. degree in 2009 at University of Ghana. He then moved to Germany and obtained his MSc. degree in Polymer material Science at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. His master thesis was undertaken in the group of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Binder on the synthesis and structural investigations on poly(isobutylene) based ionic liquids for self-healing applications.
He further enrolled as a Ph.D student in the same group of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Binder, and in March 2018, he completed his Ph.D degree on the topic: synthesis and crystallization studies of azobenzene defect polymers and supramolecular block copolymers.
In April 2018, he joined the Staubitz group at University of Bremen as a postdoctoral researcher, working on Molecularly controlled stimuli-sensitive hydrogels for dynamically adjustable biohybrid actuators.
