Student finances
Students who are not EU citizens usually need a visa to enter Germany. In order to receive a student visa, you have to provide evidence of having sufficient financing for a one-year stay in Germany. Currently this is 11.208 euros (as of 1st. August 2022). You also have to proof your finance to extend your stay.
For a shorter stay you have to show availability of correspondingly less funds.

moreAssistance in financial emergencies for international students
If you are in an ongoing financial emergency, you can apply for one-time aid.
From now on, please only submit applications for aid in a digital form.
You can find the application form here. Please send it filled in via email to the International Office.
Warning of Possible Fraud Attempts
Have you been asked to pay fees to payment service providers in order for your scholarship application to be processed?
Please note that it is possible that fake letters or emails are being circulated that contain a request for payment.
How can I recognize a fraud attempt?
Please check in each case whether it is a legitimate request. The University of Bremen will never contact you via social media or messaging services regarding official matters. Payment requests always only refer to the semester fees and will only be sent after admission to the study program. Payment requests always state only the bank details of the university, which are also mentioned on the website.
Official emails from the university come exclusively from emails ending with @uni-bremen.de or @vw.uni-bremen.de.
