YUFE Town Hall & Mayors' Meeting 2021

Welcome to this year's YUFE Town Hall & YUFE Mayors’ Meeting!

The annual Town Hall Meetings are intended to provide an opportunity for university leaders and staff to meet and discuss outside of the regular YUFE meeting schedule. This year, the event will be organized together with the YUFE Mayors' Meeting, which also takes place annually. This meeting should contribute to deepen the exchange between the YUFE partners and the political representatives of the YUFE locations.

Below you will find the programme of the YUFE Town Hall, the YUFE Mayors’ Meeting, as well as some practical information regarding your stay in Bremen.

Should any questions or concerns arise, feel free to contact the organizing team via yufe@uni-bremen.de

Practical Information

This page will be updated regularily.

Arrival and Departure

You can travel to Bremen by plane, train or car.

If you are choosing to fly, Bremen Airport is the easiest choice since it is only a short tram ride from there into the city center. However, you could also fly into Hanover Airport or Hamburg Airport and take a connecting train to Bremen Main Train Station. This would also be your final destination if you decide to travel by train. From Bremen Main Station, local public transport is available to take you anywhere within the city.

Local Public Transport

To find the best connection to get from point A to B within the city, you can either use Google Maps or the local route planner (Route Planner (vbn.de)).

Please note that at this point in time, it is mandatory to wear a mask while travelling with public transportation.

Bremen is a beautiful city, so when you have some spare time in your schedule, you might decide to see some of the things the city has to offer.

The Hanseatic city of Bremen has gathered a list of must see attractions (Must-See Attractions (bremen.eu)) that we can only recommend. One thing however, is missing: our University. With everything in one spot our campus has some fascinating places and stories to offer, which we will share with you on our campus tour. You can find an overview of the campus on this website Campus - Universität Bremen (uni-bremen.de)

Covid-19

Up to date rules and restrictions for entering Germany due to COVID-19 pandemic measures can be found here: Information on entry restrictions, testing and quarantine regulations in Germany - Federal Foreign Office (auswaertiges-amt.de). If you have any questions or notice any unclarities in these rules, please just let us know.

We kindly ask all the participants to bring their EU digital COVID-19 certificates with them. In this way, we adhere to the recommendations of German public health authorities and also minimise the risk for everyone involved. In addition, we will of course also respect all the other rules and recommendations regarding the pandemic, such as physical distance, disinfection and masks.

Further information regarding any topics Covid-19 related can be found on this website: Information for International Students and Researchers - Universität Bremen (uni-bremen.de)
