Denise Fechner was a research associate at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen until the end of January 2022, focusing on the media society and digital practices. From 2011 to 2018 she studied media management at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Research of the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover. After her master thesis on the topic "Dear subscribers, do you want to stream forever? Why users commit to a subscription video-on-demand provider: A study on how to commit subscribers to a subscription video-on-demand service against the background of the use-and-gratifications approach 2.0." From 2017 to 2018, she worked as a research assistant and lecturer at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.
